ABOUT
Apostolis Koutsogiannis was born in 1994 in Athens, Greece and grew up in Thessaloniki. He is composer, instrumentalist and artistic director of Oros Ensemble. He has written music for different ensembles and orchestra, as well as music for theater and cinema. He studied in England and Greece (universities of Cambridge/University of Macedonia), graduating with the highest honors. He has received scholarships from the Hellenic Innovation Foundation and the Leventis Foundation. He won the 1st prize at the Cambridge University Musical Society composition competition, and served as a composer in residence for Cambridge University. His works have been repeatedly presented by the Oros Ensemble, Ligeti Quartet, Atlas Ensemble, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Cambridge Sinfonia, St. Catharine’s College children's choir, Ventus Quintet, Athens String Quartet,and the Greek contemporary music ensemble in Greece, Europe, and America.
Ο Αποστόλης Κουτσογιάννης γεννήθηκε το 1994 στην Αθήνα και μεγάλωσε στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Είναι συνθέτης, εκτελεστής και καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής του Oros Ensemble. Έχει γράψει μουσική για ενόργανα σύνολα, θέατρο, χορό και κινηματογράφο. Έχει σπουδάσει σύνθεση στην Αγγλία και στην Ελλάδα στα πανεπιστήμια Cambridge και Πα.μακ. απ' όπου αποφοίτησε με τις υψηλότερες διακρίσεις. Καθηγητές του υπήρξαν μεταξύ άλλων οι Richard Causton και Γιώργος Κυριακάκης. Έχει λάβει υποτροφίες από το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Καινοτομίας και ερευνών, το Ίδρυμα Λεβέντη και το St’ Catharine’s College. Έχει κερδίσει το 1ο βραβείο στον διαγωνισμό σύνθεσης του Cambridge University Musical society και υπήρξε composer in residence του εν λόγω πανεπιστημίου. Έργα του έχουν παρουσιαστεί κατ’ επανάληψη από τους Oros Ensemble, το Ligeti Quartet, το Atlas Ensemble, το Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, την Cambridge Sinfonia, την παιδική χορωδία του St’ Catharine’s college, το Ventus quintet, το Athens String Quartet και το ελληνικό συγκρότημα σύγχρονης μουσικής σε Ελλάδα, Ευρώπη και Αμερική.
